Concert in the Park and Dinner

So we had a good time at the concert in the park. Headed out to a new Greek Place in Huntsville called Taziki?s. Will absolutely be going back again. It is fast food Greek Style. The first group that performed was called Ashleigh Marie and the High Tech Rednecks. I was amazed to find out she is only 13 but very talented.

Concerts In the Park

         Well today is Monday so that means this is going on tonight.   Of course any decisions about cancellations or relocations due to weather are made between 5:30 and 6:00pm so listen to your local news or radio to find out if there are any changes.    My husband and I really enjoy going to these when we can.   I like to go when it is not so humid because sitting outside when there is high humidity is not one of my favorite things to do.  

Things to Do In Huntsville

I was thinking of different things to do if you are new to Huntsville or if you are just visiting. The Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau has a list of attractions to see. Some of the places on here I had even forgot about. Alabama Constitution Village is always a good place to take your kids. I remember going on school field trips there as a student in elementary school. They have some interesting things about Alabama's History there. If that is not your speed then there is always Sci-Quest which is a hands on Science center for kids. I myself have never been as this was something that opened after I left the area and was out of School. Another favorite place is the US Space and Rocket Center. It is the home of Space Camp which just celebrated it's 25 anniversary last year.

Family Gatherings the Day After

Yesterday, I had posted about having a family gathering at my cousins. Anyway, we had a good time. I was able to see cousins that I do not normally get to see often. The food was quite tasty. We all love to eat. Anyway, I am hoping that my cousin will continue the tradition.

Family Gatherings

Later today we are headed to a family gathering on my dad's side of the family. I always enjoyed going to family gatherings as there were cousins who are in my age range that I do not get to see very often. Having moved away from the area and staying gone for 13 years it is always nice to see family that I don't get to see very often. Growing up our family gatherings were always at Thanksgiving and we would have a house full of people. My dad always did the cooking and other family would bring side dishes. We always munched on food all day before the meal. Chips, Dip, Vegetables and Sausage Snackers was always readily available while the main meal was cooking. Now my cousin has taken over the entertaining of the clan. It seems like January is the time chosen to have the family gathering. Scary thing is it has only been a year since the last family gathering and my family will probably wonder who the skinny guy that I brought with me is. My husband dropped some weight last year since the last family gathering and he has hair this time.
